New York City

As part of our trip to attend a New England wedding this November, we also got to spend a couple days in New York City, eating our way around town. Here’s a little recap below!

Night one, dinner at Cosme with our wonderful host Julia! We took note of their use of Heath Ceramics.

Duck tacos. Yes.

And a really incredible husk merengue, corn mousse dessert.

Day two begins with the best cookies on earth from Levain.

Happened upon a farmer’s market at Union Square.

Yay autumn.

My first Tim Ho Wan visit and their famous baked bbq pork buns.

Starbucks Reserve in Chelsea.

I will have to come back for this beef noodle soup place in Chelsea Market! We already ate too many things for me to have it at the time.

Going up the High Line.

Had to do the peak instagram thing and visit the Vessel.

David Chang’s fast food outpost. Pretty tasty.

For dinner: Taiwanese beef noodle soup at Ho Foods. With sour plum juice!

Along with Do-Hee who was also in town from SF, and my cousin Walter who lives in Brooklyn.

Road trip time! Absolute bagels to get us going up to New England.

And upon our return, TAF dinner in Chinatown!

With dessert at Sweet Moment.

Hey my boba holders are also good as a reusable sleeve for hot coffee!

We had a Brooklyn Day, which started with Taiwanese American breakfast at Win Son Bakery. I love this place and wish we had something similar in the Bay!

A little stop by the Apple store.

A store aiming towards zero waste! Reusable containers and sustainable products of every kind.

Maison Premiere for oyster happy hour!

Brooklyn General Store which is really a craft supply shop! I picked up a beautiful ball of wool to gift Stephanie as part of our Office of Accountability secret santa.

Then, we decided to wait in a long line for pizza at Lucali’s. You wait in line before opening to put your name down and then get a time frame (potentially a couple hours later) for when you can come back to actually sit down and dine. In the meantime, we went to some breweries in the area…Folksbier and Other Half.

And we’re in! The famed pizza shop, Lucali’s.

BYOB, so we went with the Brooklyn theme for a bottle from Red Hook from a shop down the street.

Yeah, worth the wait.

A calzone too, for good measure. Also delicious.

Then a visit to the Bay Area sports bar to catch the Seahawks-49ers game. It was a close one that we lost, but we just righted that one in the rematch tonight!

Then a little detour to Times Square to visit some billboards.

Getting bobblehead-selfies amidst all the bright lights.

Last but not least, a day walking across Central Park.

Fall, fall, fall.

Guggenheim.

My first visit to the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum.

So much digital interaction. Fun. And a pen that lets you save things you like to your digital account.

Final New York meal; Shake Shack.
